The smoke from these horrible fires is waning. And our last days of Summer are dwindling into Autumn. It is always a bitter-sweet time for me because I love Summer. I love moving into Fall and the colors of the season. I love taking hikes and taking photos of the trees. And making Pumpkin Coffee Cake for those crisp mornings.
On those thoughts, I wanted to talk about my coming show at the Sierra Arts Foundation. I spent much of my time this year preparing for this show. I have some lovely visual treats for you to see. If you love Nevada as I do, I have put together many textile quilts which bring forth the the charming character of the our wonderful Washoe Valley. Many if the pieces are my interpretation of the local landscapes and fauna. If you are out this Saturday, the reception is from 12 pm to 4 pm at the Sierra Arts Foundation.
Here is the link to the show.
Consider coming to see me and, the other artists, Kathryn Dudley, Nancy Ryan, and Denise Miller. There will be refreshments.
If you can’t get to the reception come and see the show at your convenience at 17 S. Virginia St. #120 next the Wild River Grill. The Gallery’s hours of operation are Tuesday-Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Saturdays 12-4pm. It hangs from September 7th to October 6th.
Masks for Covid protocol will be enforced for safety.
In further news: My work will hang at the Reno Fine Art Colletive until September 30th. It is located at 200 S. Virginia st. Suite 100. That is the Chase Bank building.
Keep November 12th – 14th in the back of your mind as Reno Open Studios is putting together a Holiday Pop-up Show with all the Open Studio Artists in one location at the Summit Mall. This is the perfect time to get started on your Christmas shopping and bring home that unique gift for yourself or a loved one.
I will also be the featured artist at the Spanish Springs Library from November 1st to December 31st. Reception time to be announced.
That’s it for this blog. Now get out there and enjoy all that nature God created for you. I look forward to seeing you at the SAF reception as well as the other shows.
Warm regards,
Holly Gardner
